Lynn is excited to announce the return of the L A Percussion Ensemble, under the artistic direction of Bill Kraft. The group embodies a fresh approach to classic works for percussion, explores the music of today's top composers, and collaborates with other leading instrumentalists. "Southwest Chamber Music is proud to continue this landmark series with percussionist Lynn Vartan, the Tambuco Percussion Ensemble of Mexico City and soloists from Southwest Chamber Music, performing and recording all of the Encounters of William Kraft. Spanning over thirty years of compositional success, the Encounters rival any set of pieces from any era and firmly establish percussion as a solo instrument. We are proud to present Encounters XIV, a world premiere for Southwest Chamber Music commissioned by the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University."
