Exacta Duo

Lynn Vartan and Miguel Gonzalez and both international performers who are interested in the cultural exchanges that can happen between artists and musicians. To that end, they formed the Exacta Duo, with Lynn hailing from the United States and Miguel from Mexico City, Mexico.  They met while recording the Grammy Nominated CD of the Complete Chamber Music for Carlos Chavez, Volume 3 with Southwest Chamber Music in 2005, and have enjoyed performing together ever since

Both Marimba One artists, they offer a stellar display of technique and virtuosity on marimba with an intriguing blend of their different individual personalities.  In addition to their marimba playing, they play duos for all other percussion instruments and enjoy improvising compositions as well.  Recent performances include Southern Utah University’s Percussion Festival, recital appearances in Jalapa, Mexico and Los Angeles, CA.

Their first CD together is due for release later this year and will include Keiko Abe’s Conversation in the Forest, The Safri Duo’s Effugonetrom, Wahlund’s History of Man, Raul Tudon’s Games, as well as other works and one of the duo’s improvisatory sketches.
